Florian Just started his education as a singer with entering the “Dresdner Kreuzchor” where he was singing as a boy soprano-soloist in Mozarts “Zauberflöte” at the Semperoper Dresden and the Staatsoper Berlin.
He studied at the Conservatories of Amsterdam and Metz in the Opera- and Lied class of Udo Reinemann.
He is regularly performing Bach’s Christmas oratory and passions (Staatskappelle Dresden, Amsterdam Bach Consort, Gelders Orkest), Reqiuem by Brahms, Faure and Sgambati and he performed Mahler’s early songs with orchestra (De Filharmonie).
Florian Just is regular guest at Holland Opera where he performed the leading rolls in Dido & Aeneas and L’Orfeo and is touring through the Netherlands with new operas for children. With the “Resident Artist Program” of the Nationale Reisopera in Enschede he sang the role of Pelléas in “Pelléas et Mélisande” by C. Debussy. He sang Xenakis’ Oresteïa at the Teatro San Martin of Buenos Aires and will return there with Sciarrino’s Luci mie traditrici. He performed the leading rol in the world premiere of Morton Subotnik’s Jacobs Room at the Bregenzer Festspiele, the Festival Out Of Control in Vienna and in Berlin and Dresden. Future Engagements are Pelleas et Melisande with Opera Transparant in Belgium, Norway and the Netherlands and Jacobs Room in Poland.
With pianist Jan-Paul Grijpink and lutist Israel Golani he forms duos that perform repertoire from the early Renaissance till the contemporary period in numerous concerts throughout the Netherlands.
Florian Just won a various number of important prices at international singing contests. So as in march 2004 the „Vriendenkrans“ and press price of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and in 2006 the prestigious Schubert interpretation price of the contest “Schubert and the music of modern times” in Graz, Austria.
He took part in master classes of Thomas Hampson, Udo Reinemann, Rudolf Jansen, Hartmut Höll, Noëlle Barker, Roger Vignoles and Jard van Nes.
